Going Places with Languages in Europe is a language learning project funded with the support of the European Commission in the context of vocational education (Programme: Leonardo da Vinci - Transfer of Innovation). The key target groups are therefore teachers and trainers based within the upper secondary, apprenticeship, vocational and CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) sectors and their learners.

Four project partners from the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland and Romania will transfer and adapt an existing teaching resource.

This existing DVD focuses on the development of transferable business skills which are useful for vocational learners involved in areas such as business, retail, travel and tourism and customer service.

Learners follow a student on work experience as he carries out a number of activities such as booking accommodation, making travel arrangements, dealing with visitors to a company and directions and signs, and help solve the challenges.

The final product will also be available on DVD and aims to develop vocational language skills for German, French and Spanish, supporting materials for CLIL for vocational learners will also be provided.

During the project the new resource will be piloted using three different groups of teachers/trainers to ensure relevance and appropriateness.
